Official Standings

Standings will be maintained and posted on PlottDogs.Com and will serve as the Official Standing. All results must be entered on the Official Report Form (download form at the Official Report Form link above) at www.plottdogs.com and received at the PlottDogs.Com office not later than the 15th of the month following the month of the event. Example: A cast won on August 10th must be received at the PlottDogs.Com office not later than September 15th. Reports received after the 15th of the month following the month in which the cast was won will not count in the Official Standings.

Official Certification

The Official Report Form must contain the name, address, phone number, and the signature of the Hunt Director (AKC or PKC) or the Master of Hounds or Hunt Director (UKC) officiating the event where the cast win with plus points with competition is earned in order to be entered in the Official Standings.

All wins reported on the Official Report Form will be verified and if found to be fraudulent, the responsible participant's wins will be expunged from the standings and future participation for that individual and any dogs registered to that individual will be denied.

The Official Report Form will be the only acceptable means of verifying the cast win with plus points with competition. It is the responsibility of the participant to have the Official Report Form competed by the Hunt Director of Master of Hounds.

Official Advisory Committee

An Official Advisory committee comprised of the following individuals will advise PlottDogs.Com concerning contest rules and will settle any and all disputes. The Official Advisory Committee will audit the competition results and announce the winners. The committee is comprised of the following individuals chosen for their integrity, experience in the sport, and devotion to the Plott dog:

• Chris Powell of Indiana representing AKC events
• Tracey Fincher of South Carolina representing PKC events
• Dr. Tim Hickman of Iowa representing UKC events
• Tracey Jones of Tennessee – Committeeman at Large

Should situations and/or disputes in results occur, the Official Advisory Committee member for the registry where the situation and/or dispute occurred will serve as Chairman of the Advisory Committee in all discussions pertaining to said situation and/or dispute. The decision of the Official Advisory Committee shall be the final authority in all such situations and/or disputes. Should the committee become deadlocked in any decision relative to such situations and/or disputes, the deadlock will be broken by the management of PlottDogs.Com.

Annual Championship Event

An annual PlottDogs Competition Coonhound of the Year Championship, hereafter referred to as “The Championship” shall be held annually and shall consist of the Top 16 Plotts in the Official PlottDogs Competition Coonhound of the Year standings for the year. Should a dog in the Top 16 be unable or unwilling to attend The Championship, the next dog in order of cast wins with plus points earned with competition and appearing in the Official Standings will be invited to participate. Likewise additional dogs in the Official Standings will be invited in a “next-in-line” manner to insure a sixteen-dog championship.

The Championship will consist of four (4) casts hunting early and one Championship cast (Final Four) hunting either late the same night or early the following night, to be decided by the Advisory Committee and announced prior to the event. The Final Four must be hunted off. The hunting time of the Final Four cast shall be one-hour or two-hours, to be determined by the majority of the handlers of dogs participating in the Final Four.

The annual PlottDogs Competition Coonhound of the Year Championship will be held in the fall following the end date of the competition (September 30) at The Vine Conference Center in Dillsboro, Indiana, the exact date of The Championship to be announced.

Since the permit requirements of the State of Indiana require the event to be licensed, The Championship will be run as a 16-dog Black Gold – Gold Medal Event licensed by American Kennel Club.

Rules

The Championship will be run under the Nite Hunt rules of the American Kennel Club.

Entry fees and Awards

The entry fee for The Championship to be determined. All entries must be received in advance by the published deadline, said deadline to be announced. AKC fees consisting of a $25.00 license fee and $3.00 per dog recording fee will be deducted from the proceeds. The remaining funds will be distributed as follows: Thirty percent (30%) to The Vine for serving as the host of the event and seventy percent (70%) to the winners in the Final Four.

Example of Final Four payback:

16 dogs @ $100.00 generates proceeds of $1,600.00
Deduct registry fees of $73.00 leaves a remainder of $1,527.00
The host will receive 30% of the remainder or $458.10
Awards will consist of 70% of the remainder or $1,068.90
First place will pay (50%) or $534.45
Second place will pay (25%) or $267.23
