Bear Pen Top Hand "Pee Wee" was one of my all time favorite hounds. He was the hardest going Plott off the chain that I ever hunted with. I could fire Pee Wee off the tailgate and have him strike in a timber a quarter mile away so fast I could hardly believe it. I've had guys ask me, "whose dog is that" not believing that he could get that deep, that quick. I've pulled him off of trees and have him urinate for 5 minutes because he refused to empty out before going hunting. This dog would hunt!

Pee Wee was a real pleasure to hunt despite his hard hunting. He handled real well and was easily broke off trash as a young hound. He was a real nice tree dog that had a coon when you walked up. He treed sitting down with his chest on the bark. He would tree with anything and absolutely had no growl or fight in him in the woods.

He was a tremendous bear dog as well. He was hunted a lot with CH Bronco's Fancy Julie and the two of them made a heck of a team on bear. He would sit at the tree and never take his eye off the bear, barking every breath until the bear was killed or he was led away.

Pee Wee had a cold nose, great speed, and a tremendous mouth for his size. He died of kidney failure at nine years of age. A really good hound that I'll always fondly remember.

He was producing nice pups although bred very little. A Pee Wee pup named Willie was stolen in Boone County, WV in September of 1990. He was a nice young hound and was never recovered.
